Toledo, Spain: September 2011

During the last leg of my trip we visited Toledo, Spain. A historical town just an hour or so by train from Madrid. It was originally the capital of the Spanish Empire and place of coexistence of Christian, Jewish and Muslim cultures, as well as the place where harsh religious persecutions were held against the Jews.  When you hear the phrase; ‘Holy Toledo’ it refers to this place. We were only there for the day, toured around the town and got to see one of the oldest standing synagogues in the world.

  1. Jane,

Picture #2 is my favorite, but the pic of Jesus and the B&W alley (4th from bottom) are also incredible. Very good job. I want to develop your pictures, and hang them around my house. Cheers!
